Managing performance of a computer system requires the execution of tasks in four domains:(1) performance problem diagnosis and repair, (2) resource management, (3) application optimization, and (4) capacity planning. Resource management is the set of normal operational tasks that include the duties of expectation management, job scheduling, hardware allocation, parameter adjustment, and the like. This session focuses upon the specifics of how to meet your response time and throughput goals.
